Within this new generation of hip-hop, fans are looking beyond the norm & want to hear more than just the typical “rap artist” or “lyricist”. As a result the new generation of artists are forced to bring something new to the table and it seems that this responsibility is falling back on the producers behind the boards. With the continued progression of the genre of hip-hop on a mainstream level, well known producers like Kanye West, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League & N.E.R.D have pushed the limits of what the original architects like DJ PREMIER & PETE ROCK have established. On another end the new influence of what the late J. Dilla has contributed with incorporating electronic music into production techniques, new producers like Flying Lotus, Dibia$e & Mndsgn have taken the hip-hop genre into a new realm.
In the middle of all this i’d like to introduce you to the producer that is RUFIO.
Rufio is a producer/beatmaker/engineer that comes from the suburbs of South Sacramento. With a good foundation of musical influences & a strong work ethic RUFIO has developed a sound that we believe will help support the progression & growth of the scene surrounding him. Working alongside up & coming artists Illecism, Chuuwee, C-Plus from the Sacramento area to reaching beyond city limits with Moe Green, Uptown Swuite & Haz Solo, Rufio finds himself in a strong position surrounded by a pool of genuine talent. RUFIO currently resides in the LA area pursuing his passion in the arts.
